The Islamic Council of New England is one of the oldest and most respected Islamic organizations that actively works to improve the condition for Muslims living in the New England region. It also serves as an umbrella organization for the various masjids and Islamic cen-ters throughout New England which consists of Massachusetts , Rhode Island , Connecticut , New Hampshire , Maine and Vermont .
